Wolfram Alpha vs. ChatGPT

 Wofram Alpha vs. ChatGPT:

Mathematical Computation vs. Machine Learning

Stephen Wolfram, the author of the monumental "A New Kind of Science," dives into differences between his mathematical engine and programming language and the NLP algorithm based on deep neural network architecture (GPT). Stephen Wolfram points out many subtle yet potentially significant discrepancies given by ChatGPT to mathematical questions.

There are a lot of cases where ChatGPT can help with people's writing, make suggestions, or generate text or code that's useful for various documents or algorithms. But when it comes to setting up things that have to be perfect, machine learning generalizes information which means that it loses a certain amount of accuracy. For example, #ChatGPT does great at text processing where there isn't a precisely correct answer. But when the question requires a precise response, it might fail.

We are probably close to combining mathematical engines with large language models. Stephen Wolfram suggested that this process has already started.
