Automated Content Moderation

This excellent paper shows the magnitude of the challenge ahead of content moderation system developers.

My approach to content moderation relied on classification in the context of significantly preprocessed reference materials. I also tried a filtering approach, but modeling seemed like a more elegant solution. The problem often is that the relevant guidelines or policies require significant preprocessing to disambiguate the semantics or extract well-defined rules. In addition, the typology is often very complex and requires the meaningful participation of all stakeholders while developing the analytics pipeline. However, once this preprocessing and enrichment are completed, the inductive learning process is relatively simple and performs well for moderate-sized data sets. #contentmoderation #NLP #AI #aiethics #explainability #explainableai #informationsharing
