Neural interfaces and
VR for robotic construction
OpenBCI’s Project
Galea collaboration with Valve & Neuro-Privacy Implications of
Physiological Data
Generally, this is scary stuff. Neuro privacy and VR privacy are certainly critical new
concepts that will have to be tackled along with AI ethics, AI-explainability,
invasive interfaces, and many others. There are many ways this technology can
be abused. Up to now, it has been only a distant future sci-fi that explored
dystopian scenarios that involved brain-scanning technologies. Now, this is
almost a commercial mainstream product. There are many excellent applications,
though. For example, it seems that building autonomous construction systems for
the Martian colony development is still a challenging problem. However, a few
VR and neural interface-driven systems might be a great way to allow humans to
build on Mars from the relative safety of their habitats.
