Information search

Information/knowledge search as an algorithm is a well-understood and researched branch of #AI. Industry surveys that point out that search is still a challenge suggest that many factors need to be considered. Personally, I have to agree with the finding of the survey. Knowing how much many organizations spend on information portals, knowledge management, hardware, and software, I would expect far higher satisfaction levels.

As a consultant and a programmer, I'm increasingly convinced that non-technical factors and lack of organizational readiness for AI might outweigh performance gains from the latest and most incredible AI algorithms. The literature in the field of complex system adoption is vibrant. However, this knowledge less visible when compared to the super technical findings published in the core of the AI field. As a practitioner with decades of experience, I increasingly believe that it is easier to convince decision-makers to deploy a sophisticated system than to change an organization so that it can be effectively used.
