Content Moderation: Production Systems, Hybrid Architectures

 Production Systems (in the AI sense) are returning after a period of dominance of connectionist #ML. Increasingly important regulatory efforts to infuse #ethics into intelligent systems or initiatives to codify social norms seem to have created new interest in hybrid architectures that include rule-based architectures. 

It appears that modeling knowledge-intensive problems of adhering to various technical or legal standards is still a crucial area where production systems can play an important role. We are looking at tasks where explicit representation is combined with nonlinear, combinatorically challenging interactions with sensing platforms.
