This is a significant step towards the permanent Moon base and probably can be adapted for the Mars missions. Dr. Robert Zubrin often mentioned that it would be difficult for #spacex to build its own reactors due to regulatory reasons. It would be interesting to compare the energy needs of a Moon base to the Mars city envisioned by Elon (per person or building). I'm guessing that in-situ propellant production would be the critical determining factor for energy
