It is interesting to look at how scientific discoveries were
documented over the centuries. Michael Gordin published a detailed study in Scientific
Babel: How Science Was Done Before and After Global English. From the
linguistic point of view, there is an advantage to using one set of grammars
and semantics to represent knowledge. On the other hand, other languages might
be better suited for structuring information in various cultural environments.
