 Olfaction - an additional modality for interacting with #AI algorithms

While deep learning appears to be the technology for processing visual information, other modalities might be helpful, i.e., olfaction or the sense of smell. Scientists are trying to understand better how organisms process chemical information. They may have uncovered coding strategies that seem especially relevant to AI problems. It might be tremendously helpful for natural language processing algorithms to get insight into the mood or current predisposition of people interacting with AI systems.
