I
think that books and papers on #AI
applications in the legal field will be increasingly common. At the moment, AI
is facing difficulties with legal audits. Inevitably, AI will soon enter the
realm of criminal and civil law. Black box algorithms might not be appropriate,
which will boost research in alternative approaches. The authors are correct in
assuming that the legal processes can be viewed as data processing that
involves connecting input data, e.g., legal evidence, with output, e.g., legal
judgments.
It would be fascinating to look at outcomes from legal #Turing tests
mentioned by the authors.
