Some of the datasets from exoplanet search initiatives are available. I worked on these data sets to benchmark some of the neural network architectures against SVMs and other algorithms. Applying machine learning to discover possible “wobbles” or brightness changes of distant stars is one of the most exciting AI projects I can imagine.
